alright everyone, or at least the few who look at this
im home a young steele emailed me to ask what uni was like in a nut shell so i thought id put it here and then some of you will know, and it might mean that when you're the 20ith person ive just seen in ages you'll get to know more than "it was great" :)
firstly the course (possible the one time my course has got this spot) it is hardwork im doing lots of programming and maths which is grand, we had to build a bridge that spanned 50cm and supported 2kg out of only paper and tape or glue, this was a bit of a mission at first and my group only meeting up the week before testing and spending most of that meeting cooking a fry up it was fairly miraculos that the final result held 31kg!!!! i have learnt that computers are thick they will only do exactly what you tell them and if somthings happens you didnt think of they just fall over and die, which means i am more understanding of my computer crashing and more worried about how hard my course/ a future job could be.
general life
FAN TAS TIC uni life is great, halls are a cool place to be people are always around, theres always stuff to do people to hang out with/ stay up late talking with/ go out dancing with/ play playstation with/ make you tea/ etc etc. The CU is huge and there are loads of really passionate people in my the blocks around where i live we all go break dancing. my church is really kicking they have just go a fair trade socitey going in the uni, one lady runs one of the best club nights in southampton check link for details. though the church and other stuff going on i have learnt and experienced a lot more of the gifts of the spirit, and made some cool friends. on the going out front the hall bar does guinness for £1.50 and plays daft punk and has pool tables. there is every kind of music from deep funky to smelly cheese, rock and roll(saw Idelwild last week great) to dave peace vs dj spoony at a club called ikon
so this term has indeed been great i hope you feel reading to the bottom of this uncharacteristically long post has been worth it and if i dont see you before 25th have a great Christmas

a prayer from the carol service (read post below)

Dad,

thanks for everything you've given to us, loving friends and family a life of food and shelter and water.

Your Son brought peace and passion to us at this time. We know your right here with us as we celebrate His visit.

Give us wisdom and genorosity towards each other but also to our brothers and sisters around the world who live in very different situations, those who may die of hunger or hypothemia or just be alone on Christmas day

Dont lets us feel guilty instead help us accept the responsibility of the wealth You've given to us so we can use it to express the LOVE and GRACE that Jesus, who was born in an foreign back alley, was all about

in His holy name amen
was at a good old skool carol service tonight it was cool the speaker was really good aswell, it was in one of the church's near the uni and organised by the CU as an outreach. my hall group made 200 yes 200 mince pies in my kitchen on friday night for the occasion, there was also mulled wine on the go. the speaker said a cool thing about the grace of jesus; santa comes to the good boys and girls, jesus came for everyone, 1-0 oh yes

I'm not trying to get my way
in the world's way.
I'm trying to get Your way
your Word's way.
I'm staying on the trail;
I'm putting one foot
in front of the other
I'm not giving up

psalm 17v4ish message translation
this is one of davids prayers and it is pretty relivatn to where i am at the minute, fighting a battle, falling down, but staying on the trail one step at a time, Praise the Lord cause my hip is loads better, thanks to some prayer. and i keep getting given food which is great cause im overdrawn and cant really afford to buy much food.
